RIIFT MAINTENANCE

Key pointers for keeping your RIIFT System maintained so you're ready for every session.

Pre Session Checklist

  • Powerpack fully charged
  • Remote fully charged
  • Powerpack 5 pins packed with Battery Grease
  • Latch clean of sand and fully engaged in board
  • Rotor lubricated with WD40 Lanolin Based and installed on rotor

Post Session Maintenance

Powerpack

  • Remove Powerpack from board
  • Wash Powerpack with fresh water
  • Clean sand from mechanism and check its working smoothly
  • Clean 5 metal terminals with WD40 Lanolin Based or Battery Grease
  • Charge battery
  • Load battery pins with Battery Grease

Propulsion Pack - motor

  • Remove the rotor by gently pulling it straight off the stator
  • Wash rotor with fresh water
  • Wash stator internals (bearings) with fresh water
  • Let water drain from rotor (blades up)
  • Spray rotor with WD40 Lanolin Based
  • Apply marine grease to motor shaft from time to time
  • Check pins on motor cable, clean and spray with WD40 Lanolin Based

Propulsion Pack - Motor Pod, Hub and Propeller Blades

  • Visually inspect motor pod and insert for and defects or wear points
  • Visually inspect propeller hub for cracking or defects, especially around the screw holes
  • The 3 screws holding the hub to the motor can be done up tight
  • The 2 screws holding the motor pod to the stator can be done up tight
  • The 3 30mm screws holding the propeller blades to the hub should be one finger tight (do not overtighten as this may crack the hub), and the blades should be able to open and close easily with no resistance

remote control

  • Wash remote with fresh water
  • Charge remote

MAINTANENCE CONSUMABLES

These items are required for proper care and maintenance of your RIIFT System.

Three options for lubrication for RIIFT maintenance.

Lubricant

Either of these three brands will work for your RIIFT System.

WD40 Lanolin Based

Inox Lanox

Fluid Film

Marine Grease

Apply a small smear of this on the rotor shaft every few rides. This ensures the rotor slides easily on and off the stator. Do not use large amounts of this as it can collect sand which will wear the bearings.

GRUNT Strap

This will be superseded by the RIIFT Strap.

We've compiled this info along with a RIIFT improvement schedule into a PDF.
